Mothers Day Gifts at Wroxham Barns

Flowers never fail to please, but instead of a bouquet that lasts a week, why not choose a plant that will give flowers for months to come. Bill LeGrice Roses at Wroxham Barns has an extensive selection of beautiful standard, bush and climbing roses, including the perfectly formed and strongly scented Renaissance, a classic tea rose with its cluster of small double flowers; and the very beautiful Star Performer (pictured below), a new climbing rose with supremely free flowering satin-pink flowers and beautiful shiny foliage. Prices for roses start at £6.95.

If your mother was an original hippy chick, she will appreciate something from Gabriella Miller’s Miss 60 range of ceramics and homewares. Gabriella’s funky designs include jugs, plates, dishes and cups with prices starting from £9.99.

Burleigh's ceramics meanwhile capture an earlier era, evoking a time when everything really did stop for tea (with homemade cake, of course!) Burleigh’s delicate floral patterns come in pink and blue, with prices starting at £4.99 for an egg cup.

If your mother wears distinctive jewellery, she will love the new Arts and Crafts jewellery range, from Norway. Each collection is carefully made by hand in small quantities and inspired by nature. These beautiful silver earrings, for example are from their Buttercup range and cost £12.95.

Green-fingered and practical mothers will love the original range of Pretty Useful Tools available at Wroxham Barns’ Garden Room. Billed as being ‘serious tools for the seriously stylish’, these pretty floral tools, which are decorated in feminine patterns and shades can be bought individually or in a gift box. Prices start from £4.99.

Wroxham Barns'craft studios meanwhile are a fantastic source of distinctive and original gifts, including stained glass tiffany lamps, hand thrown pottery, and gemstone jewellery. Wroxham Barns newest craftswoman, for example, sculptor Sue Windley makes beautiful pieces of all sizes such as this delightful soapstone dolphin, [pictured below], which costs £30.

Wroxham Barns is also the perfect place to take Mum for lunch or afternoon tea for Mother’s Day. The new menu in the restaurant café features both traditional and modern dishes, freshly prepared and using local ingredients wherever possible; while the traditional afternoon tea, complete with scones, sandwiches and proper tea from a teapot remains popular with all ages.
