Wroxham Barns has Easter Cracked
With bunnies, lambs, chicks, eggs, hot cross buns and daffodils, Wroxham Barns is the perfect place to spend a day out this Easter.
Children will love the activities taking place daily at the newly-refurbished Junior Farm. Bottle-feeding the hungry little lambs is always great fun and an experience not to be missed, or for something more peaceful, how about cuddling the gentle rabbits and chicks?
The funfair is open throughout the Easter break too, so children can let off steam on the Go-Gator rollercoaster and take to the sky in the flying boats.
Chocolate is a must at Easter, but for something a bit different to traditional Easter eggs, visit Wroxham Barns’ food shops, the Pantry and the Fudge Shop. Here visitors will find a wide range of Easter-themed sweet treats including chocolate bunnies, chick lollipops, little Easter cakes and sugar-free ranges for diabetics.
The spring break is also the best time to get out in the garden, and green-fingered visitors to Wroxham Barns will surely want to look at the extensive range of roses, shrubs and herbaceous perennials at LeGrice Roses. Or if they are searching for something stylish to spruce up their garden or conservatory, they should pop next door to The Garden Room, which sells a wide selection of garden-themed accessories including beautiful wrought iron furniture, pretty tools, watering cans, painted bird houses and fun wellies.
And Easter wouldn’t be Easter of course without a hot-cross-bun or two. Wroxham Barns’ hot cross buns are baked daily in their kitchens by Janet Sharp, the Barns’ long-reigning Queen of the Cakes, and served warm with lots of butter. Janet also will be making and serving traditional Simnel Cake at Wroxham Barns over the Easter weekend. This wonderfully rich fruit cake, with its marzipan filling, is an often-overlooked Easter treat, and Janet hopes her recipe will help reinstate the cake’s position at the Easter table. The Restaurant Café at Wroxham Barns also serves a wide selection of traditional and modern lunch dishes, all freshly made on the premises.
Wroxham Barns is open daily from 10am-5pm. Entrance and parking is free. Admission to Junior Farm costs £2.95 per person, with under-3s free. Fair-rides are individually priced. For further information visit www.wroxhambarns.co.uk or call 01603 783762.
