Sue Windley, Sculptor
Sculptor Sue Windley, is the latest craftsperson to join Wroxham Barns, moving from Cumbria in November 2006.Sue's work, which is primarily inspired by nature, ranges in size from small pieces created to be held, up to life size model figures. She uses a wide range of materials including stone, wood, plastic, resin and paint.
A former student of the Norwich School of Art, Sue has exhibited extensively across the UK. Her work has been shown at the Surrey Sculpture Society in Polesden Lacey, the Woodstock Museum in Oxford and, more locally, at the John Innes Centre and the Grapevine Gallery in Norwich.
Sculpting gives life to thought, creating solid objects representing things, people and ideas from a verity of materials. As someone who creates sculptures Sue is a sculptor, who enjoys exploring different materials and methods of working. Forming solid objects from ideas is the magic of sculpture.
Hoping to encourage others to take up art Sue sells art and sculpture materials including Derwent Pencils and Reeves products. Sue also sells children's creative hobby crafts and imaginative activity kits. Inspiring people to have fun and make things themselves. Being creative is essential to enhance and enrich the magic of normal life.
